We have seen the solidification of the Major League Rugby’s upcoming plans, with the schedule for 2018 published, addition of top notch broadcast outlets, and, more important for us in New England, the announcement of the New York franchise, called Rugby United New York.

After a down year locally in 2017, with the ongoing struggles of Boston and Boston Irish, coupled with a difficult Fall campaign for Mystic River, the top D1 team in the region, we needed some good news on the club scene. The Boston Irish Wolfhounds took top honors at the annual NERFU Tournament this past weekend, while Boston Women’s RFC won the women’s top bracket. October 8th, 2016: ARP Week 5 NYAC defeat Mystic River in a tight game 27-22, while Old Blue rebounded from last week’s loss to NYAC with a big win over Boston 96-0.
