Thoughts of a Boston comeback were dashed at the start of the second half, with a rejuvenated Life squad firing on all cylinders with the pack securing possession and the ball being spun wide for the backs to exploit. Mixed results for the New England teams in the inaugural week of Atlantic Premiership Rugby, with Boston RFC taking an important road win in New York against Old Blue, while the Boston Irish Wolfhounds were handed a defeat at the hands of NYAC.

In Canton, hosts Boston Irish Wolfhounds were forced to play a lot of defense against NYAC, which they did solidly for the first twenty minutes. It was the Wolfhounds who scored first, scrumhalf Mike Durant scoring a try in the corner, the Paddy Owens conversion was good from the sideline.

NYAC got on the board in the 25th minute, scoring a short range try through Chris Baumann, converted by Justin Hundley. With ten minutes left in the half, NYAC took the lead with another short range try, Patrick Fiffe (updated-ed.) getting the credit for that one. With a Wolfhounds flanker in the bin for a team infringement, NYAC added ten points in the last four minutes of the half to take a 22-7 lead into half time.
